V psihologiji se izraz \"velikih pet\" nana\u0161a na model osebnosti, ki ga sestavlja pet glavnih lastnosti. Ta model je leta 1981 predlagal ameri\u0161ki psiholog Lewis Goldberg, med letoma 1987 in 1992 pa sta ga razvila Costa in McCrae. Model je splo\u0161no priznan kot merilo v teoreti\u010dnem raziskovanju osebnosti in je bil uporabljen za oblikovanje psiholo\u0161kih profilov milijonov ljudi po vsem svetu.

V letu 2010 so teste, povezane s skupino Big Five, uporabljala v voja\u0161ke, politi\u010dne in strankarske namene, zlasti podjetja, kot sta SCL Group prek svojih podru\u017enic Cambridge Analytica in Aggregate IQ.
